My Time at MLS

From 2013 to 2021 – I worked for MLS.
The irony was that I never got a Press credential from LA Galaxy or Chivas USA. Yet I still got the interviews I wanted.
This week…celebrating my 20 years doing this podcast…I got turned down for a press credential from LAFC. The tradition continues. Would have been nice but I have never lost sleep over Press Credentials. I will forever have a nice story about the time LAFC turned down Press Credentials to someone who has been commentating on American Soccer for 20 years.
I’m publishing some photos of my time on the pitch for MLS.
And I will continue to talk about Top Tier American Soccer on the podcast when the story is good enough to talk about. So no love lost.

This photo goes back to 2005
I’m wearing a now rare “World Soccer Wrap” T-shirt that we used to give away to any listeners that sent us an email.

Can you spot me?

I call this photo “The Thoughts of a Solitary Legend”
Andrea Pirlo contemplating the end of his legendary career as he watches younger less players take over.

I was standing that close.

31st March 2018

Another fantastic day at work. Zlatan scores two goals and if I were any closer I’d have to wear a Galaxy jersey. Historic stuff!
The smile I’m wearing is one filled with pure joy! happiness! wonder! 1130pm and I’ve been smiling like that for hours now.
These moments are the reason I love soccer/life.

Smoke on the pitch.

Have to put this one in. DB23 in training- forget which year.

One of the Star Squad told me to get a haircut.

When Zlatan knew he couldn’t do anymore and the Galaxy didn’t make it to Play Offs.

Walking behind Zlatan as we enter the field. The dude was class! The way he treated everyone around him was brilliant.
